Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician
Location: Horsham, PA
Schedule: Tues-Sun 11AM-7:30 PM
Type: Contract to hire
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Life Sciences
Lab experience or looking to gain experience in a lab environment
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Ability to work with others in a laboratory environment
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, able to lift a 30-pound object from the floor to a shelf six feet highStrong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Experience in fast paced environments preferred
Attention to detail required
Requirements: Analyze water parameters from various sources such as drinking water; wastewater as well as recreational waters such as pools, lakes and rivers during weather-related (rain) sampling events for microbiological analyses
Obtain a thorough knowledge of assigned microbiological procedures and any instrumentations used as well as all computer hardware and software necessary to acquire data and produce results.
Microbiological data review within Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) along with customer service data notifications and client communication
Demonstrate good laboratory practices (GLP) i.e. archiving data, keeping neat, orderly logbooks, properly cleaning, using and maintaining any equipment or glassware.
Perform and document all required QA/QC procedures in accordance with official methodologies and/or company SOPs.
Satisfactorily complete and review all assigned analyses for technical accuracy and data quality before submitting to management for approval.
Report all equipment, technical or workload problems immediately to management.
Monitor and maintain proper housekeeping in the laboratory. Report all equipment, technical or workload problems immediately to management.
Adhere to company health and safety policies, including eye protection, wearing lab coats, hand protection, and usage of chemical fume hoods/laminar flow hoods.
Perform other duties as assigned by Company Management. Additional duties and responsibilities may include reassignment at the discretion of Company Management.
