We are seeking an Animal Biologist to support the overall functions of the Laboratory of Allergic Diseases (LAD), NIH.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory procedures and techniques, and perform immunostaining and microscopy.
- Perform experiments with congenic, transgenic, and knockout mice; analyses of vascular leakage in organs; familiar with mouse tumor models; perform histological and pathological assessment; and molecular and cell biology.
- Comfortable working with human vascular endothelial cells.
- Maintain and operate laboratory instruments used to perform tests, analyses, and other laboratory procedures.
- Maintain and keep accurate daily records of experiments and results.
- Write reports of findings, stating methods and procedures, including any modifications employed specimens and materials involved, and results of experiments.
- Quality control of the laboratory including upkeep and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain and order general lab supplies and animal supplies.
Qualifications
- Work location: Bldg. 10, RM 11S253.
- Minimum Master's degree, but Ph.D. degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
- Experience with Vascular biology is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communications, and time management skills.
