What This Position Is All About:

This role is responsible for leading company-wide strategies and execution for Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) at Saks OFF 5TH. As a newly separate ecommerce organization, there is a requirement to define and build a purposeful roadmap for (ESG) initiatives to impact both short term and long term results in a dynamic environment. This leader will educate and align senior leaders in the organization to current and emerging trends and make recommendations aligned to our business flagship goals.

Define and drive Saks OFF 5TH ESG Strategy and partnership development. Engage in strategic planning and collaborate with relevant subject-matter experts to define Saks OFF 5TH aspiration; key goals and metrics; ESG approach; policies, and practices.

Stays updated and masters relevant industry and ESG information.

Lead cross-functional workstreams designed to achieve certain policy, practice, and disclosure outcomes within your defined set of priority ESG issues, including deeper analyses to improve the company's understanding of the issue, risks, performance, etc.

Manage financial and non-financial reporting and tracking on the overall ESG and various work streams and projects.

Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects; develop and communicate business plans and priorities; remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance; provide resources; measure progress and adjust performance accordingly; develop contingency plans; and demonstrate adaptability and support continuous learning.

Determine long-term goals and annual objectives to achieve sustainability goals established for the company, inclusive of Merchandising, Corporate, Supply Chain, and Stores.

Develop measurement policies and implement governance processes and disclosure controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of ESG reporting

Create KPIs and provide oversight of processes and procedures to regularly measure actions against outlined goals and objectives.

Acts as a representative for the Communications team to effectively communicate company positions, corporate goals and objectives to all audiences.

You Have:

Minimum of 12+ years of management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate sustainability or equivalent. Retail industry is a plus.

Ability to think strategically, identify emerging issues, analyze potential impacts and translate ideas and insights into viable recommendations for action.

Demonstrated experience in Communications and Public Relations

Demonstrated success working cross functionally and with external vendors to achieve targets

Established relationships with other industry leaders in the field of ESG

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong business acumen, judgment, instincts, and organizational skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, and outcome-focused

Comfort with scale, change and change management

Ability to travel
