Environmental Field Technician - Hope Mills, NC 28348

System One a contract opportunity for Environmental Technicians to support our Client's project in Hope Mills. Our client set up a field office in/around Fayetteville, NC and looking to hire more Environmental Field Technicians to be part of the team.

Required to have 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification (w/ updated 8 hour refresher )

3-6 month temporary with direct hire option at some point after
Valid Driver's License and clean MVR - will use company vehicle
Work hours are from 7:00a to 7:00p / Overtime is expected
Will complete all System One and Client onboarding requirement
United States Citizenship or Perm Residency is required
Environmental Technician Qualifications / Experience

40-hr HAZWOPER Cert. (and annual refresher if applicable) REQUIRED
Relevant trade experience in environmental investigations.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to and from field locations
Experience working with "emerging compounds" a plus, but not a requirement.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Should be able-bodied as the work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities.
Work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. hot, cold, rain and snow).
Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field.

Responsibilities:

Water sampling utilizing a wide variety of equipment.
Operation of various types of equipment (e.g., GPS, data loggers, survey level, combustible gas meters, etc.).
Completion of field documentation such as field notes, monitoring, and chain-of-custody forms.
Work with project coordinators/managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed on time and budget.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

In this role, under minimal supervision, you will perform a variety of routine and nonroutine tasks in support of the professional staff within the assigned unit. Work assignments will predominately be at field sites but could include intermittent office tasks. We need our technicians to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skill.
