KPMG is currently seeking an Associate/Sr. Associate in Infrastructure and Projects Advisory for our Deal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries to assist companies in better understand and develop solutions to respond to the complex and evolving policy, regulatory, and business environment risks and opportunities associated with Corporate Sustainability and ESG
  • Review/analyze corporate activities and provide recommendations related to enhance their sustainability/ESG strategy, methods, framework, and related tools to support clients in achieving their sustainability/ ESG objectives
  • Assist with the review and development of sustainability/ESG programs and related reporting, such as materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, gap analysis, metric/KPI identification (in alignment with common sustainability/ESG reporting standards), and the preparation of reporting (internal and external) materials
  • Work with engagement teams to perform fieldwork, including data collection, analysis, and work paper documentation; prepare, edit, and proofread narrative reports and presentations of observations and recommendations
  • Define and implement recommendations related to sustainability/ESG program policies and procedures, processes, internal controls, roles and responsibilities, reporting, and supporting information technology solutions
  • Support team leads with client relationships, business development efforts, and drafting thought leadership, as well as internal collateral and pieces of training on sustainability and ESG topics; work closely, but independently, under the direction of Managers, Directors, and Partners

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Associate:
  • Manage part(s) of an engagement, supervise staff level engagement teams, and provide direction and training to associates

Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of relevant professional experience from a management consultancy, financial services firm, rating agency, in-house corporate sustainability role, or other relevant private-sector roles with an ESG or climate services focus, preferably with demonstrated ESG and/or climate knowledge and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Sustainability, Business, Political Science, Environmental Engineering, Climate Science, Physical Sciences, or related with evidence of relevant course work/study; Master's Degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, GHG emissions accounting, climate risk assessment, and climate scenario analysis a plus; experience with data analytics & visualization preferred
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as GRI, CDP, SASB, and TCFD (experience working with frameworks a plus). Subject-matter knowledge across Sustainability / ESG management, reporting and transparency, and risk management (demonstrated expertise in one or more topic areas a plus)
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint; advanced skills preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong research and analytical skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Additional Qualifications for Senior Associate:
  • Minimum three years of relevant professional experience from a management consultancy, financial services firm, rating agency, in-house corporate sustainability role, or other relevant private-sector roles with an ESG and/or climate services focus, preferably with demonstrated experience completing/leading ESG or climate change-focused projects
