What you will be doing:

The Department of Environmental Quality seeks to fill twelve positions to review Erosion & Sediment Control Plans, Stormwater Management Plans, and Construction Record Drawings. These positions will assist in responding to technical inquiries from the regulated community, the general public, and local government VSMP/VESCP authorities regarding complex situations to ensure the consistent implementation of laws, regulations, guidance, and policy. Some of these positions will also assist in guidance development and evaluate requests from Annual Standard and Specification entities.

The successful candidate will possess considerable knowledge of federal/state environmental laws and regulations. Key competencies to include:

· Knowledge of Virginia Stormwater Management Program Regulations
· Knowledge of Virginia Erosion & Sediment Control Regulations
· Knowledge of Engineering Principles for Stormwater Management and Erosion & Sediment Control
· Knowledge, skills, and abilities in Project Management
· Ability to Analyze & Problem Solve
· Knowledge, skills, and abilities in Personal Computer Operations
· Effective Verbal & Written Communication Skills

Degree from an accredited college or university in environmental engineering, natural or environmental science, or related field. A combination of education, experience, and training may substitute for a degree. Certification or the ability to obtain Certification as an Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Plan Reviewer within one year of employment.
