EH&S Manager

Who?

Lead Candidate has the privilege of partnering with organisations who are growing something special, making a difference to society through improved patient therapies and care. One such partner, INCOG Biopharma Services, is looking to appoint an EH&S Manager to provide leadership, direction, development, and continuous improvement of INCOG's safety culture through verbal and written communication. Responsible for safety audits, site security, develops and conducts EH&S training programs, and provides safety coaching and mentoring to the department.

What?

The EH&S Manager is responsible for protecting employees, customers, and the environment. The EH&S Manager will partner with internal and external customers to meet the needs of client projects, facility upgrades, capital expansion projects, laboratory, and manufacturing systems. You will possess a demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes without direct reporting authority. Additionally, they must thoroughly understand and be able to adapt to the changing needs of a manufacturing environment.

Some main aspects of the role will include:

• Obtain and maintain all necessary environmental permits and conducts an annual review of all plans and permits

• Work closely with and be advised and guided by subject matter experts (SMEs) in environmental consulting and compliance as needed

• Manage regulatory agency and 3rd-party audits, inspections, inquiries, contacts and reporting

• Maintain appropriate certifications and credentials for managing industrial waste disposal and environmental compliance

• Manage disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes

• Develop and execute written health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines

• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety

• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law

• Present or arrange training on health and safety subjects and accident prevention

• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by observing employees and operations

• Work closely with and is advised by equipment and maintenance SMEs

• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe and report possible unsafe conditions

• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and reports Worker's Compensation claims

• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

• Manage and report on EH&S KPIs

• Research and select personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees

• Develop and manage site security

About you…

With your experience in subject matter expertise and practical experience in compliance with government regulations, you will bring a bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene or a field such as chemical engineering, chemistry, or biology, along with an accredited industrial hygiene certification.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

• Valid qualification or certification(s) in occupational health and safety

• Understands legal, environmental, health and safety guidelines

• Proven ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies

• Knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

• Excellent organizational and motivational skills

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

• 2 years GMP experience required or other regulated industry
