Main Activities:
- Support HSE Personnel
- Conduct environmental and safety inspections and audits, including but not limited to: air emissions, hazardous waste, universal waste, storm water, wastewater, first aid, PPE, daily walk-throughs, etc.
- Manage and file records and documentation specific to Health, Safety and Environmental, including SDS
- Create and revise HSE communications, work instructions and procedures
- Update HSE documentation (e.g., risk assessment, impact analysis, etc.)
- Participate in HSE Workgroup (CIP)
- Conduct research to support HSE (supplies, PPE, etc.)
- Assist in the implementation and auditing of the HSE Control Plan
- Assist in the development and coordination of the facility's waste management and recycling programs
- Conduct TOP Safety Observations
- Maintain record-keeping of TOP Safety Observation Cards
- Conduct shipments of hazardous waste
- Conduct HSE Training
- Participate in Continuous Improvement tools (POSITIVE, POMs, Focused Improvement Roadmap, etc)
Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to learn the overall processes to each department.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Occasional travel to other US facilities.
- Behavioral Attributes: Proactive, Team Spirited, Creative, Adaptable, Thorough, Self-Directed, Detail-oriented.
- Must be able to take minimal direction and see projects through to the end.
- Knowledge of RCRA Hazardous Waste Management preferred
- Knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Management preferred
- Knowledge of Wastewater Management preferred
Qualifications:
- Able to work minimum of 20 hour a week.
- Able to work 6 months - 1 year with flexible hours to accommodate school schedule.
