Best Buy Health is seeking a Q&R Product Development Director. This role will lead Quality & Regulatory efforts (Q&R) on the Health Technology Leadership team, working closely with the VP of Q&R and Chief Technology Officer. It will advocate for regulatory alignment of product development efforts and collaborate with partners to ensure key Q&R operations and the Quality Management Systems perform and transform programs related to product quality, compliance, operations and ensuring complete visibility up and downstream design control activities within Best Buy Health development process.

This role will work with Product Development, Data Science, Data Privacy, InfoSec, Data Strategist and Data Governance leaders, as well as development teams across the organization to oversee considerations for compliance and advice on design considerations. It requires medical device industry familiarity and experience performing quality functions within the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Quality System Regulations and the EU Medical Device Directives/ Medical Device Regulations. This role will include working independently, as well as the responsibility for significant interactions and relationships across the organization- guiding continuous Quality improvements across product design, manufacturing, and distribution principles/environment.

What will you do?

• Manage product development projects in close collaboration with the Health Technology leadership Quality/Regulatory/Clinical team members
• Provide input to regulatory strategy for all development projects, anticipating changes in regulatory environment and approval requirements (in view of product registration)
• In collaboration with the affiliated contract developers and contract manufacturers, provide leadership in the design and construct of a development plan to ensure proper product registration supports corporate goals
• Define the design and development plan of all Company product development projects in accordance with current regulatory and quality assurance (i.e., design control) guidelines
• Ensure implementation of formal processes to support the product development process (e.g., systematic design and technical reviews)
• Support the management of project schedules and milestones to ensure timely product launch within approved budgets
• Identifiy and implement product improvements to optimize performance and availability of unique materials
• Champion the Quality culture change across the organization.
• Advise others within the Health Technology Team on medical device regulatory considerations for architecture, design, and development activities
• Support internal and external audits and ensure relevant remediation activities are completed

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• 8 years of health related product development and quality & regulatory experience, preferably in the medical device industry
• 3 years experience leading engineering teams
