About the Opportunity:

· Our team is currently searching for a Biology Research Assistant II for this independent, non-profit institute in San Diego, CA that ranked number one globally in 2009 by ScienceWatch in the neuroscience and behavior field
· Be a part of this independent nonprofit organization and architectural landmark that believes that every cure has a starting point.
· You will be working under supervision, focusing on brain slicing and dissection, nuclei production and sorting for multi-omics analysis, protein biochemistry, and image analysis.

Biology Research Assistant II Responsibilities:

· Isolating primary cells and culture from mouse and human tissues including fibroblasts, and immune cells
· Performing various techniques in molecular biology such as RNA/DNA extraction and analysis
· Transplanting bone marrow, handling mice, and dissecting necropsy and tissue
· Doing surgeries such as slicing and dissecting brain tissues independently

Biology Research Assistant II Qualifications:

· 2 years of professional and relevant experience in a lab setting
· Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field
· Theoretical and hands-on knowledge of animal handling, specifically mice handling
· Proficient in the operation of standard lab equipment and computer hardware/software
