This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Archaeologist for our Las Vegas, Nevada office. Be involved in projects with our Heritage & Cultural Resources Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
  • Experience as an archaeological monitor.
  • Able to direct field teams on archaeological surveys and excavations.
  • Comfortable interacting with clients, landowners, and construction teams.
  • Skilled in technical report writing.
  • Experience working with tribal monitors and representatives.
  • Versed in heritage and cultural resource state and federal regulations.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or a related field; Masters Degree/Ph.D. preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant post-education work experience in the context of Section 106/110 and compliance.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in Nevada/Great Basin CRM archaeology.
  • This is a temporary, full-time position for a long-term monitoring project (six months). Ability to travel and work on short notice is necessary. There is opportunity for continuing work once monitoring assignment concludes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in a defined archaeological subfield, evidenced by publications and/or presentations.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Local to Nevada and surrounding region is preferred.
  • Experience conducting archaeological monitoring is preferred.
