Your Role:
At Sigma the BioAnalytical Associate Scientist will support efforts leading to the development of new products and processes for monoclonal antibody and viral gene therapy BioProcessing. The position is based in Bedford, MA and is part of the BioProcessing Research and Development (R&D) group. The BioAnalytical team focuses on the development, optimization, and application of analytical techniques including HPLC, ELISA, qPCR, particle analysis, and electrophoresis to support processes and projects. This position is 85% lab based.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biology or other Science discipline or Associate degree in Biochemistry, Biology or other Science discipline with 2+ years' experience in biomolecule analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the quantification of proteins and DNA; familiarity with instruments such as HPLC and plate readers and techniques such as ELISA
Fundamental understanding of biopharmaceutical processing
Ability to work safely and efficiently in the lab following standard procedures and protocols
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint software
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment
Ability to multi-task, handle routine and non-routine requests and assist other members of the team
Possess a working knowledge in the operation of lab equipment and the ability to recognize equipment issues and take corrective action
Excellent record keeping, verbal and written communication skills
