5+ years of bioinformatics data analysis experience in the Cancer Research setting or Biopharma space

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate scientist to join our Disease Strategy and Late-Stage Hematology team in the Translational Bioinformatics group. This team applies available and innovative bioinformatics, machine learning and statistical approaches to rich integrated patient data to gain insights and empower data-driven decisions.

The scientists in this group perform integrated analyses on pre-clinical, clinical, and real-world -omics data sets including whole exome, transcriptome and targeted RNA-Seq, WES, WGS, and targeted DNA-Seq, single-cell sequencing, spatial sequencing, high-throughput proteomics, and multiplex flow cytometry data to assist early and late stage studies with new drug targets nomination, drug development decisions, patient enrichment as well as forward and reverse translational strategies.

This position will focus on translating insights using patient data to assist with disease stratification, mechanisms of treatment response and resistance in order to derive therapeutic mechanisms of action for existing and Client therapies, as they transition into clinic. The position would suit an individual with strong statistical and computational capabilities, excellent communication, and collaboration skills. Applications are encouraged from those involved in innovative cancer translational biomarker research studies especially heme malignancies. The role offers the opportunity to directly impact the delivery of truly transformational and life-changing therapies in key diseases of unmet medical need.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of Principal Scientist, define and execute data analysis plans to gain insights from integrated multi-omics, blood parameters, and clinical data to assist with on-asset biomarker assessment.

Perform end-to-end NGS data processing, QC, segment calling, and downstream analysis.

Evaluate and adapt latest scientific findings and Client algorithms into bioinformatics analysis plans.

Summarize analysis results, write a report.

Job Requirements:

Ph.D. or M.Sc. with 3+ years of experience- in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or another relevant field. Experiences in cancer research institutions, biotech or pharmaceutical industries is a plus.

Fluency with Linux-based high-performance computing environments, R/Bioconductor, and reproducible research practices specially GitHub. Experiences with other high-level programming language such as Python is a plus. Familiarity with cloud computing environments (Docker, AWS) is highly desired.

Extensive experience with RNA-Seq, DNASeq workflow and pipelines. Familiarity with single-cell sequencing and/or spatial data is desirable.

Some statistics background is required.

Expertise in application of modern machine-learning/AI approaches is desirable.

Deep understanding of disease biology in oncology/hematology is a strong plus.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to handle several concurrent, fast-paced projects while conforming with rigorous requirements of clinical studies.

Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, and rigorous and creative thinking.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain complex ideas to computational scientists, experimentalists, and clinicians
