Biologist III/IV- Client Platform Biology
Description
Client has an opening for an Biologist III/IV contract position within the Antibody Drug Conjugate (Client) Platform Team at our Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA. The Client group within DDST collaborates with drug discovery project teams across all therapeutic areas including Oncology and Immunology. The ideal candidate will effectively work to collaborate with chemists, biologists and pharmacologists to characterize large and small molecules for Client development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, optimize, and execute high content cellular imaging assays using genomic manipulations techniques, small or large molecules to study cellular trafficking and pathway biology
o Practical experience with designing and executing cellular assays on high content imaging platforms, data analysis and visualization
o Excellent computer skills and a good understanding of basic image analysis software
• Experienced with working with 2D and 3D in-vitro model systems
o Experienced with low and HTS screening methods
o Experience with designing Co-Culture model systems
• Experienced with liquid handling automation systems
• Experienced with trouble shooting in-vitro assays and validating in-vitro assays
o Experienced with protocol write-ups
• Experienced with corelating target modulation with phenotype while screening or characterizing large or small molecules
• Work collaboratively with project teams to deliver targets across portfolio
• Demonstrate scientific excellence, work ethic, and dedication to team and project goals
• Work collaboratively in a matrix with project teams and members of the Biologics Group to drive innovation and deliver Client therapies to patients
• Develop productive collaborations and communication with other groups across therapeutic areas
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline with 5 or more years of experience and a BS/MS in Biology or Biochemistry
• Experienced screening large and small molecules (reporter assays, proliferation and cytokine release)
• Experience executing antibody internalization experiments is a plus
• Experience with transfections and generating transient and stable cell lines
• Experience culturing adherent, suspension and primary cells
• Proficiency in performing flow cytometry and ELISA experiments
• Experience with performing qPCR and automated western blot analysis
• Experience working with high throughput laboratory workflows and instruments such MACsQuant, FACS Canto, Microbeta, Wes, ImageXpress confocal, Amnis Imagestream, Via7 (taqman) and Spectramax plate readers.
• Experience documenting experimental methods and results into BIOELN
• Ability to summarize and present results to project teams
MUST HAVE:
• MS in related discipline
- 3 -5 years industry/lab experience
- High Content Imaging (Florescent Microscopy, Cellular Staining, Imaging analysis etc.)
NICE TO HAVE / NOT REQUIRED:
- Cell Line Development
- Loss/Gain function
- Screen genetic modifiers
Significant Work Activities and Conditions Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
