Research Associate/Senior Research Associate Biologics Discovery Client is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. With each new discovery and investigational drug candidate, we seek to improve the care of patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world Specific Responsibilities: The Biologics Discovery group is a specialized team within the Protein Therapeutics function that is responsible for the discovery and optimization of biologic drug candidates. We seek a highly motivated Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to contribute to our efforts for biologics discovery, engineering and optimization. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams and play a key role in delivering Client biologics for growing biologics portfolios across several therapeutic areas Essential Duties and Job Functions: In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will support efforts to generate Client antibody-based therapeutics by applying B-cell and display-based technologies along with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Utilize single B-cell FACS sorting or hybridoma to Client Client antibodies in support of project teams

Identify antibody variable region sequences and prepare for recombinant expression through a variety of molecular biology techniques

Generate display libraries using phage or yeast, and execute library selection and screening methodologies for the discovery and lead optimization of biologics Perform NGS-based antibody discovery using both display technologies and single B cells Characterize the binding and functional properties of Client antibodies, antibody-based scaffolds, and other biologics Collaborate with other researchers in cross-functional teams Deliver scientific presentations in lab and project team meetings Organize and execute multiple projects in a collaborative team environment Maintain compliance with company policies and record keeping Knowledge, Experience and Skills: B.S./M.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience. Job title will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. An ideal candidate will have experiences in most of the following areas: Hands-on experience in antibody discovery using B cell-based discovery platform (e.g. hybridoma, single B cell) or at least one display technology (e.g. phage, yeast, or mammalian display)

Experience with biochemical assays and quantitative analysis of protein-protein binding interactions (e.g. FACS, ELISA, Octet). FACS-based cell sorting is a plus. Experience in molecular cloning and familiarity in NGS Familiarity in mammalian cell culture, and protein expression and purification Experience in analyzing antibody sequences from antibody discovery campaigns Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Multi-tasking and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
