Assists in planning, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program. Develops, promotes and sustains EHS awareness and expertise throughout region. Develops, conducts and coordinates EHS training sessions, materials and resources. Basic Qualifications:Experience- Minimum one (1) year of environmental, health and/or safety experience.Education- Bachelor's degree in occupational/environmental safety management, environmental, chemical or mechanical engineering, industrial hygiene, chemistry, biology, science related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.License, Certification, Registration- N/A Additional Requirements:- Knowledge of environmental/safety laws and regulations, and in development and delivery of adult training programs/materials.- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in creativity/innovation, decision making, group presentations, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving and written communication.- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, multimedia presentations, spreadsheet and database PC applications.

- Plans, develops, implements and reviews standards, policies and procedures which consolidate and coordinate Hawaii Region Employee Health and Safety (EHS) efforts and responsibilities. Ensures clearly defined roles and responsibilities for individuals and organizational entities.- Develops and implements systems to identify, coordinate and monitor implementation of new, existing or changing EHS regulatory requirements throughout Hawaii Region.- Develops and maintains EHS awareness and expertise in Hawaii Region. Maintains and updates EHS reference, training and resource library. Creates training materials, and coordinates and conducts training sessions to support region and department needs. Promotes EHS awareness through regional and departmental orientation programs. Attends EHS related training, lectures, seminars, conferences and conventions.- Provides recommendations to director in development and execution of management and planning strategies that effectively and efficiently respond to regulatory agency enforcement actions. Utilizes legal counsel as appropriate.
