Environmental Remediation Project Manger

Summary of Position:

Project Management experience in the environmental consulting field managing projects under CERCLA and RCRA. Must be experienced in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates and work plans, project scope - schedule - budget tracking, preparation of project deliverables, oversight of quality and safety, field activities, staff, and subcontractors management. Responsibilities include client interaction and oversight of site investigations/assessments, site characterizations, LTM & LTO and RPO, and remediation work.

This is a regular, full-time exempt salary position, work location can be remote or within the Albuquerque NM Office.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects in accordance with contract and scope of work.
  • Prepare cost estimates, internal budgets, and track job costs.
  • Prepare and ensure compliance with contract for project planning documents including work plans, APP/SSHP, PMP, and QCP, UFP-QAPP, and modification requests for Preliminary Assessments (PA)/Site Inspections (SI), Remedial Investigations (RI)/Feasibility Studies (FS), and remediation projects under RCRA and CERCLA.
  • Manage sampling and analysis of groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediment; to delineate nature and extent of contamination and quantify human health and ecological risks including the preparation of corresponding baseline risk assessments and exposure pathways.
  • Development of site conceptual models.
  • Coordinate with Business Unit Manager to facilitate project status reporting, procurement, and subcontract management.
  • Assist Contracts Manager with subcontract procurement including developing SOW and evaluating bids.
  • Supervise subcontractors, including drillers, geophysical surveyors, excavation service providers, laboratories, land surveyors, etc.
  • Prepare field and technical reports, and after-action reports.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Perform and oversee technical activities.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • B.S. Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or similarly related field
  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Preferred registration as a Professional Geologist or Engineer
  • Minimum 4-8 years related experience managing RCRA and/or CERCLA projects
  • Experience managing PFAS SIs and/or RIs.
  • Experience working with US Department of Defense and Civilian Agencies
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations
  • Excellent written, oral, and computer skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically and creatively, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist and communicate with staff and clients
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license, a clean driving record, and be willing to travel as needed
  • Ability to obtain base passes and/or security clearance as required
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher, and Supervisor training
  • Working knowledge of EM385-1-1 (2014)
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety
  • USACE Construction Quality Management
  • Drug/Alcohol screening required
  • Background check required
  • COVID vaccination or qualified exemption required

Working Conditions:
