Lab Temps is assisting our clientin their search for a Research Associate or Associate Scientist (Cell Biology) with expertise in cellular and molecular biology-based assays. Its mission isto detect and then cure cancer at its earliest stages, effortlessly and pain-free. The technology which grounds the company's efforts ushers in a new era in "synthetic biomarkers" as a novel methodology to detect cancer and then subsequently localize and then treat cancer. The enabling technology utilizes "synthetic biomarkers" as a novel methodology to detect, localize and ultimately destroy cancer.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain cell lines and primary cell-based models using aseptic cell culture techniques
  • Perform plasmid transfections and lentiviral vector transductions to derive stable cell lines
  • Perform luminescence, fluorescence, and colorimetry-based reporter assays
  • Perform nucleic acid isolations from mammalian cells, PCRs and RT-PCRs
  • Perform cell-based assays (i.e.fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, etc.) for evaluation of localization, proliferation, toxicity and pharmacokinetics-based studies
  • Meticulous documentation of experimental methods and results in organized lab records
  • Work and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and present findings internally and to external partners

Position Qualifications:

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • BS or MS degree in Life Sciences or Cell Biology or Immunology with 2-3 years biotech industry or equivalent research experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in aseptic cell culture of mammalian cells, including maintenance and creation of research/master cell banks
  • Expertise in transfection (lipofection and/or electroporation) and viral transduction methods
  • Strong hands-on experience and knowledge in multicolor flow cytometry/FACS, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, western blot, ELISAs and Luminex assays
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, cloning, PCR, and qPCR is highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required.
