Environmental Technician (MOLD & ASBESTOS)
Texas Environmental Inspections
Responsibilities:
· Assess indoor environments including, but not limited to, homes, offices, schools, public buildings, healthcare facilities, and industrial facilities.
· Perform visual assessments of indoor environments and identify environmental quality concerns. Explain service offerings with technical accuracy.
· Use scientific instrumentation and equipment to measure and monitor indoor air quality.
· Collect various types of samples for identifying indoor environmental contaminants.
· Evaluate work environments with area and personal monitoring to determine compliance with occupational health and safety rules.
· Act as a subject matter expert for all matters related to industrial hygiene, including chemical, biological, particulate, and physical contaminants.
· Accurately interpret the results of measurements and samples.
· Understand and navigate regulatory occupational health and safety rules.
· Draw conclusions based on the findings of the assessment.
· Provide recommendations for corrective actions for issues discovered.
· Speak with prospective clients and describe our company's service offerings and related fees.
· Write proposals for prospective clients.
· Maintain and calibrate instruments and equipment.
· Train new staff in IAQ and IH principles.
· Support strategic business growth and expansion initiatives.
· Explain complex situations or issues in clear and concise summaries.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· GED or diploma equivalent required
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of environmental and IH consulting or similar
· Bachelor of Science degree preferred (biology, chemistry, geology), industrial hygiene, environmental health, or related field of science
· State license for mold strongly preferred, Mold Assessment Technician from TDLR
· Solid understanding of general principles of industrial hygiene
· Apply knowledge of biological, chemical, and physical hazards
· Understand the fundamentals of toxicology, epidemiology, public health, and environmental sciences
· Apply knowledge of biological, chemical and physical hazards
· Understand fundamentals of toxicology, epidemiology, public health and environmental sciences
· Physically able to crawl, climb and walk on uneven surfaces, such as scaffolding, rooftops, elevated platforms and temporary working surfaces
· Possess driver's license and vehicle
