EHS MANAGER

We are seeking to fill a newly created position of EHS Manager at our Hildebran facility. The EHS Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) activities. The EHS Manager fosters a caring culture where safety, health and environment are ingrained as a core value equal to other business functions within the site.

Responsibilities:
  • Executes all EHS activities in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Ensures the EHS strategy is defined for the site and is executed minimizing the Company's general liability and exposure to safety, and environmental compliance risks
  • Ensures site maintains continuous "audit ready" state of compliance with governmental EHS Standards
  • Executes all site environmental compliance programs, including air, stormwater, water, spill control, and wastewater; ensures all testing required by company standards are met on time
  • Executes proper management of the site's hazardous waste management activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations and standards
  • Delivers training and coaching to establish clear understanding / engagement by all site associates on EHS expectations.
  • Ensures investigation of all EHS related incidents utilizing tools to drive to root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence; drives completion of recognized corrective actions to prevent incident recurrence
  • Leads site efforts to measure and improve industrial hygiene risk; including ergonomics, dust, noise, and chemical exposure
  • Owns the overall site contractor safety program to reduce risk associated with construction and trade contactor activity
  • Assists with execution of site security requirements to meet corporate standards, with the oversight of security operations on the site including management of contract security providers
  • Manages risk management activities associated with asset conservation and property loss control

Qualifications:
  • 1-5 years' experience managing safety and environmental programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in science (ex. engineering, safety, IH, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of food manufacturing and cGMP a plus
  • Experience with hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis
  • Ability to interact with site level manufacturing management and third-party regulatory agencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including a high level of comfort developing and delivering training and motivational presentations to all levels within the organization
