o Inspects the facility to identify safety, health and environmental risks.
o Makes recommendations on safety policies and procedures to be followed by all personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
o Assists in preparing samples, recording tests results, and recording numerical and visual observations.
o Conducts job hazard analysis.
o Monitors assigned facilities to assess and ensure compliance with regulations related to contaminants.
o Facilitates productive discussions among associates and management relative to safe workplace practices.
o Identifies new safety outreach and education strategies and approaches.
o Requests and collects associates' feedback and suggestions on safety procedures.
o Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
o Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
o Maintains safety files and records.
o Prepares and scheduled training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
o Investigates accidents and drafts accident investigation reports to document inspection findings.
o Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
o Maintains records of discharge of or associate exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
o Prepares samples, records tests results, and records numerical and visual observations.
o Conducts pollution surveys by analyzing air and ground water samples.
o Schedules the removal of hazardous materials.
o Maintains DOT certification to enable FMB to ship all types of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes properly.
o Monitors environmental testing and reporting requirements and submits to federal and state reports as required.
o Identifies and implements new safety outreach and education strategies and approaches.
o Conducts or facilitates associate training on applicable safety standards.
o Schedules and conducts safety inspections and audits.
