United Gilsonite Laboratories (UGL®) is a paint sundries manufacturer that serves independent retailers, distributors, and big-box chain outlets. UGL manufactures and sells a broad range of masonry care products, wood repair and finishing products, and various maintenance and repair products under the ZAR®, DRYLOK®, and UGL® brand names. We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for our paint and coatings industry to join our team. It will be the responsibility of the person holding this position to ensure that United Gilsonite Laboratories is in compliance with the requirements of OSHA Health and Safety, Environmental Protection Agency, RCRA, and state regulations.

We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for our paint and coatings industry to join our team. It will be the responsibility of the person holding this position to ensure that United Gilsonite Laboratories is in compliance with the requirements of OSHA Health and Safety, Environmental Protection Agency, RCRA, and state regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Required Examine permits, licenses, applications, and records to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
- Prepare written, oral, tabular, and graphic reports summarizing requirements and regulations, including enforcement and chain of custody documentation.
- Determine the nature of code violations, and actions to be taken, and issue written notices of violation; participate in enforcement hearings as necessary.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain inspection records.
- Verify that hazardous chemicals are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with regulations.
- Evaluate Environmental Health and Safety Information to determine compliance with standards using current relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, and standards for all United Gilsonite locations.
- Document and record Information - Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form for compliance reporting purposes.
- Identifying objects, actions, and events by constant monitoring for compliance.
- Ensure all employees are trained according to OSHA standards including but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Personal Protection, Respiratory Protection, Lock-Out/Tag Out, Forklift Safety, and Emergency Response training.
- Perform plant safety and housekeeping inspections, document results, and take corrective action recommendations.
- Order maintain and distribute safety supplies.
- Organize waste disposal pick-ups and maintain records.
- Provide SDS to all staff and maintain the SDS library

Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead and develop training
- Must have the ability to research and make decisions according to Federal and State EHS requirements.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience as EHS in industrial coatings, ink, or related industry
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
