Spotlight Therapeutics is aiming to unlock the full potential of CRISPR-based medicines by delivering cell-targeted gene editors in vivo, moving beyond AAV and LNPs. We have developed a proprietary platform to engineer CRISPR-Cas ribonucleoproteins (RNPs) for in vivo delivery to key cell types to treat diseases beyond the liver, beginning with cancer and monogenic diseases.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a mission-driven Scientist to join our Biology team to lead the monogenic diseases group. The person in this role will oversee efforts to progress our TAGE Platform in monogenic disease areas to advance programs and enable partnering opportunities. Our first focus is in ocular and hematopoietic stem-cell mediated diseases, with potential expansion into other therapeutic areas, such as neuronal diseases. The incumbent will lead both in-house research and external efforts. In-house activities will include oversight and execution in developing cell models for screening, testing of engineered RNPs, and identifying suitable disease targets. External efforts include management of CRO work and teaming with academic collaborators and industry partners. This role also will interact with, and possibly contribute to, immuno-oncology programs. There will be significant opportunities for professional growth and development in a fast-growing biotechnology start-up. This position reports to the CSO.
