The Deputy Director of Industry Education & Training is responsible for creating a holistic approach to education and training in specific industry segments guided by ACP's strategic plans and aligned with committee priorities. This position reports to the Director, Industry Education, & Training.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Expand on existing knowledge of specific industry segments (with a focus on operations, maintenance and safety, resource assessment/performance and reliability, among other segments) including critical industry issues and trends to ensure thought leadership in designing industry education
  • Develop and manage timely, innovative, and compelling education content for ACP members and customers, through live and online events
  • Identify and implement appropriate opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities within education program in coordination with designated Member Relations staff for assigned industry segments. (Examples: sponsored education slots, exhibit & sponsorship sales, memberships, products, etc.)
  • Responsible for consulting and coordinating with staff subject-matter experts to ensure critical industry topics are covered and leading stakeholders are incorporated in the education content
  • Strategic collaboration with members, program chair(s) and/or program committees to define industry needs, develop education content and identify quality speakers for each event
  • Participate in appropriate ACP committee calls and meetings based on industry segment to stay current on relevant topics and develop relationships with key stakeholders in each segment
  • Identify and implement the best opportunities to extend education content beyond the live audience for additional engagement and revenue.
  • Ensure professional implementation of live and online events to maximize attendee satisfaction and value
  • Serve as onsite program lead to work directly with speakers and venue staff (including A/V team in some cases) for successful program implementation
  • Manage the development of an online learning strategy in coordination with the Director of Industry Education & Training and implement online learning events for appropriate industry segments as well as co-branded opportunities
  • Administer ACP webinar program implementation for fee based & sponsored webinars. Act as a resource for the Member Relations Coordinator in the planning and implementation of quarterly member briefings
  • Responsible for training of designated staff for ACP webinars setup, implementation and post-event work
  • Train education program volunteers, temporary staff and consultants for ACP events
  • Work with the Marketing Team on utilizing education content within marketing initiatives
  • Contribute to industry training and certification development and implementation efforts as appropriate
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility for education expenses within appropriate industry segment events.
  • Contribute to other MVE Department projects as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.


Interpersonal Contacts:

This job interacts frequently with ACP members, industry leaders, political and regulatory stakeholders, internal staff, industry partners, as well as various third-party vendors. Customer service, multi-tasking and detailed-oriented skills are necessary. Ability to adhere to timelines for phone and email responses and project deadlines is required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college/university; and combination of 8 years of progressive relevant experience in education and training creation


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Well versed and knowledgeable of major industry trends
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision producing a high quality of work
  • Ability to be self-starting and work independently, prioritize projects, meet deadlines and follow through diligently
  • Flexibility and ability to work with tact in a variety of situations with a range of people
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent and timely customer service to internal and external customers
  • Must be extremely organized with excellent PC skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
