About the role

At Kerry, we hire graduates into real roles with real responsibilities from day one. This position reports to the HSE Manager and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

This role is rotational, so you'll get the chance to start at a year 1 location and then rotate to a year 2 location. After that, our and your goal is for you to be an HSE site leader and a career-long contributor to Kerry.

Kerry's New HSE Graduate Program offers a unique 2-year rotational experience in the food and beverage industry. This program offers two one-year ‘rotations' at different plants in the US. What would you do?

The HSE Grad Specialist is fundamental to our team. You'll coordinate the implementation of Kerry's HSE Safety policies and HSE plans and ensure the company is compliant with legislation and requirements. Are you passionate about health and safety? Do you enjoy developing plans that will further sustainability or environmental goals? If so, please consider applying. Other job duties are listed below:
  • Monitor and support the HSE Management System and provide advice and assistance to the HSE manager to reduce site HSE risk.
  • Support, implement and/or maintain specific North American HSE programs and projects.
  • Develop and implement safety initiatives to continually improve safety performance and objectives.
  • Support the assigned sites environmental/sustainability efforts including both achieving Zero Waste to Landfill and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Provide assistance to the site with: HSE policy development; HSE inspections & audits; employee engagement at all levels; delivering HSE training; and leading HSE incident investigations.


What will you need to be successful?
  • Four Year degree in a health, safety or environment related field. Targeted graduation date of May 2022.
  • Dynamic personality with ability and willingness to promote appropriate change and improvement.
  • Practical experience in HSE in a food or manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Inquisitive nature that enjoys problem solving and identifying business improvements.
  • Computer, planning, and problem-solving skills.
