MPF Federal is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for day-to-day management of the project and must be competent in managing the six aspects of a project, i.e. scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resource.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Direct on-site management of project/contract
  • General supervision and control of staff resources, assure accomplishment of performance goals
  • Determine eligibility of candidates to staff according to contract requirements
  • Provide contract deliverables
  • Assure compliance with facility SOPs
  • Maintain a health and safety program
  • Provide a continuous improvement and training program for staff
  • Provide management guidance to the both the Technical and Husbandry Supervisors
  • Meet with the COR weekly or as needed
  • Full understanding of the contract requirements


Qualifications:

  • Shall be certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) as Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG).
  • Shall be certified as a Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR) or take both exams within 6 months of start date.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in an animal facility, two of which shall have been in a management / supervisory capacity.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Formal education must include a minimum of a B.S. degree in the animal or other biological sciences, e.g., zoology, biology, microbiology, veterinary science. Formal education may be substituted for experience and extensive experience may be substituted for formal education with approval from the COR.
  • Additional training in microbiology, biology and animal husbandry is required.
  • Familiarity with the requirements for AAALAC accreditation and the NRC Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (the Guide), the Animal Welfare Act, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of electronic facility management computer software system
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, WORD, PowerPoint, and Excel) are essential for job performance.
  • Excellent communication and client consulting skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and proof of full vaccination required
