The Primary Responsibilities Of The EH&S Coordinator Are
As a member of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Department reporting to the EH&S Manager. The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for identifying, understanding, and coaching peers around day-to-day opportunities that may arise in the plant.
  • Manage all areas of the Safety Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Program
  • Develop and deliver training with focus around the company's core safety programs
  • Drive and audit corrective action and data driven programs.
  • The EH&S Coordinator will coordinate various initiatives in the absence of the EH&S Manager for the Facility Management Team.
Scope Of Position
Under the direction of the EH&S Manager, the EH&S Coordinator will establish and promote a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment. The coordinator plans and coordinates safety-based activities and training to maintain compliance with company, state, local and federal regulations. An ability to provide service to other department heads to promote a world class EH&S culture will be key to success in the position.
Position Requirements
  • Ability to understand, comply with and communicate James Hardie, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Knowledge and ability to update safety policies and procedures manuals.
  • Coaching abilities to perform audits of job sites, manufacturing, and plant operations.
  • Mentoring ability to assist with safety-related training as needed.
  • Critical thinking abilities to thoroughly investigate accidents and provide effective corrective action recommendations.
  • Time management abilities to manage the flow of all required reports and documentation.
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software .
  • A visible leader in sound judgment, problem solving, patience and professionalism.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deliver controls and sustainable results.
  • B.S. in Health and Safety / Environmental or B.S. in Industrial Hygiene - Preferred, or equivalent experience acceptable
  • Manufacturing experience working as a Coordinator in a Co-op or Internship within Safety administration.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and coaching in manufacturing organizations (preferred).
