Our client, a Cambridge based startup, is revolutionizing RNA delivery by leveraging new biology along the RNA-Glycobiology axis. Founded by world-experts in glycobiology and glyco-chemistry, they recently launched to harness the potential biology of glycoRNAs for delivery and immune modulation. Reporting to the Co-Founder, you will be directing the discovery biology team. You will be responsible for synthesizing data across disparate assays to form a hypothesis for a lead compound and target in vivo, and then design future in vitro and in vivo experiments to define a disease context in which this molecule is efficacious. This role requires knowledge of IND enabling experience and these assays will comprise the discovery pharmacology sections of future INDs.

- Manage a team of 3+ scientists internally and external CRO FTE's in design and execution of translational studies
- Provide expertise in hit-to-lead, SAR, and in vivo modeling assays and studies to team and oversee studies
- Manage and oversee assay activities performed at CROs/CDMOs associated with data generation and analysis
- Contribute to written pharmacology section of INDs
- Design in vivo dosing experiments and oversee execution of modeling done with external CRO partners
- Present research on a weekly basis to company leadership, and quarterly to investors and BOD
- Maintain excellent written documentation of completed experiments (e.g. electronic lab notebook and study reports)
Required:
- PhD molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology, or related field and 5+ years of industry experience
- Experience in mentoring and managing lab teams with proven management experience
- Previous experience with Hit-to-lead, SAR, and Validation stage compound decision making
- Previous experience with contributions IND enabling studies
- Ability to design and oversee in vivo modeling studies with CRO parnterships
- Excellent writing and communication skills
