Multispecies Research Group (MRG) in the Fisheries Science Department conducts high quality research and advisory service to both the public and private sectors in support of fisheries management for various fish stocks inhabiting Chesapeake Bay and the U.S. east coast in single species and ecosystem contexts.
Reporting to the Professor of Fisheries Science, the Assistant Research Scientist contributes to all aspects of the unit's mission including research, education, and advisory service.
Core responsibilities include (but not limited to)
* Leads and supports the preparation of manuscripts for publication in the peer-review literature.
* Leads and supports the preparation of grant and contract proposals; contribute to ongoing grant and contract deliverables and aid budget management.
* Provides supportive mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students.
* Engages in advisory service and outreach with public and private sectors.
