Environmental Health Safety Specialist

NV5 is growing our Environmental Health Safety and Air team with the addition of an EH&S Specialist Consultant. Relative to the candidate's degree and/or number of years of experience, the ideal candidate will work on various Air and Environmental Health & Safety compliance projects under supervision of a Senior Consultant. The successful candidate must pose a strong understanding of multimedia Environmental, Health and Safety compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee Environmental, Health and Safety compliance programs.
• Provide on-site assistance for Environmental, Health and Safety programs compliance at client sites.
• Assist clients with their compliance programs, including responding to enforcement actions and developing environmental management systems.
• Perform Industrial Hygiene Assessment such as air sampling, ventilation testing, noise measurements.
• Help industrial clients meet current and anticipated regulatory requirements such as those imposed by AQMD/APCD, EPA, DTSC, CUPA, Cal/OSHA, State and Regional Water Boards, and Sanitation Districts.
• Interface with client environmental staff, review all environmental permits and applications, provide support to service operations, and review reporting as it relates to permits.
• Help clients systematize their environmental compliance programs.

Candidates should have:

• BS degree in environmental science, engineering, or industrial hygiene (or equivalent), MS preferred
• 0 - 3 years of related experience
• Industrial hygiene experience preferred
• Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of project activities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective technical writing skills along with MS Office proficiency
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred
• California Driver's License with clean DMV record
• Reliable means of transportation

The position will be located in our Long Beach office.
