Reporting Relationship: Reports to Senior Scientist I, Platform Biology

The Opportunity:

The current opening is for a research associate (temp) position for three months in the platform biology group. We seek a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual. The successful candidate will work as a bench scientist and participate in efforts supporting the development of therapeutic Probodies.

Professional Responsibilities:
  • Work on designing and executing experiments to support the efforts of the Platform Biology group across multiple areas of expertise including cell and tissue lysates preparation, enzymatic kinetics, histology/IHC/IF-based techniques, capillary electrophoresis, and ELISA.
  • Maintain and perform experiments on mammalian cell culture
  • Follow established protocols, as well as develop and apply new protocols as needed.
  • Troubleshoot assay performance and sample testing as needed.
  • Interpret and analyze data, helping to incorporate results into overall scientific projects.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific creativity, independent thought and the ability to collaborate with others in a team fashion.

Education/Experience:
  • B.S. or M.S in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.

Professional Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to align daily work with project needs are crucial.
  • Experience in designing experiments.
  • Must be thoroughly competent in all aspects of the novel method development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Previous experiences in immunoassay techniques such as IHC/IF, and ELISA required.
  • Cell culture experience is desirable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions/Requirements:
  • This role requires the employee to work onsite.

  • Travel is not required.
