Environmental and Social Risk Analyst

Are you looking to utilise your expertise in environmental and social issues? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Macquarie's Environmental and Social Risk (ESR) team in New York.

Our Environmental and Social Risk team is responsible for providing expert advice on the environmental and social risks in our transactions. The team is responsible for developing and implementing group wide environmental and social risk policies, responding to investor queries, coordinating Macquarie's ESG disclosures as well as managing a range of projects across the wider group.

As part of the team, your responsibilities will include:

conducting technical analysis/assessment of environmental and social risks and opportunities in transactions
implementing ESR policies, systems and projects
preparing data analysis, briefings and communications
delivering aspects of the long term environmental and social risk program
providing ESR support to internal working groups
engaging with business groups on ESR issues
monitoring ESR and sector trends and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

To be successful, you will have at least 2 years' prior experience in in an environmental social risk consulting, corporate or government role as well as a degree in a related field. Biodiversity experience or strong environmental background a plus. Having a solid understanding and experience in environmental and social risk and the ability to undertake quantitative and qualitative research will contribute to your success in the role.

About the Risk Management Group

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Behavioural Risk, Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk, and RMG Enterprise Support.
