Yuasa Battery, Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of power sports batteries located in Laureldale, Pennsylvania is searching for an experienced, highly-skilled Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible leading the environmental, health, & safety program, including compliance, culture, and metrics and for the development and implementation of health & safety programs including accident prevention and loss control.

Yuasa Battery, Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of power sports batteries located in Laureldale, Pennsylvania is searching for an experienced, highly-skilled Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible leading the environmental, health, & safety program, including compliance, culture, and metrics and for the development and implementation of health & safety programs including accident prevention and loss control.
Essential Functions:
- Direct and oversee YBIA's environmental compliance program, including all permit requirements and submissions.
- Coach and influence all managers to integrate and manage Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) consistent with the risk and other aspects of the business.
- Develop and implement EHS programs that promote safe work practices, employee engagement, and metrics improvement.
- Maintain the EHS information systems such that they are accurate and capable of providing the data needed to meet strategic, legal, financial, and social reporting needs.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate operational controls, standards, and work practices to meet legal and regulatory. Regulatory agencies include OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEP, etc.
- Coordinate the EHS training programs and ensure that all the necessary training is completed in an effective manner.
- Identify regulatory and risk gaps and develop a prioritized action plan and guide implementation.
- Perform inspections of properties and operations to evaluate health and safety issues. Work with management to resolve any issues identified.
- Ensure risk assessment and job safety analysis tools are developed and utilized at all locations.
- Assist staff regarding the interpretation and implementation of health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Provides technical assistance to departments and personnel.
- Supervises and mentors the Health and Safety Supervisor, and Wastewater Treatment Plant operator/s.
- Other reporting and duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, health and safety, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years EHS experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with air emissions, hazardous materials, WWTP permitting and compliance.
- Considerable knowledge and understanding of health and safety compliance, regulations, standards, safe work practices, and procedures is essential.
- Three to five years supervisory experience
- Experience utilizing kaizen methodology to implement sustainable change.
- Above average oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
