Job Description:
The Department of Electrical Engineering at SUBR will hire a part-time technician funded through a federal government research grant project entitled Using Sensor Networks and Machine Learning to Characterize Agricultural Responses to Stimuli. The technician will work 20 hours per week for a 2-year period of the project. The budgeted salary for this position is $19,792 per year so the total budgeted salary is $39,584 for the 2-year project period. The applicant must possess extensive research experience with a BS degree or an advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in the field of agriculture/forestry or closely related technical field. The person hired for this position will assist the project PI and Co-PIs with the experimental set-up, coordination and measurements of the agricultural responses, and be able to provide stability and consistency with the data collection, analysis, and report preparation throughout the two years of this project.
Minimal Qualifications:
At a minimum, a bachelors degree (BS) in urban forestry, agricultural sciences, or a closely related field is required. Also, the applicant should have at least one year of experience working in a greenhouse.
