What youll learn & achieve:

An Environmental Field Technician performs indoor air, environmental and water quality inspections and survey work in accordance with legal requirements and ULs Healthy Buildings audits.
  • Execute all field operations related to but not limited to Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) inspections and investigations, water testing and LEED IEQ projects. Includes asbestos, building inspections, lead air monitoring, and oversight/monitoring of abatement/demolition contractors for abatement.
  • Assess building systems including air distribution, water distribution, heating and cooling systems.
  • Interact and communicate with clients on technical matters.
  • Interpret mechanical and architectural drawings.
  • Ultimate responsibility for the quality and timely collection and distribution of field data.
  • Prepare technical reports as necessary
  • Assist other Project Manager/Senior Project Manager as needed
  • Participate in technical operations meetings for the improvement and efficiency of field operations.
  • Collation and accounting of field samples.
  • Knowledge of equipment, software, and operating systems necessary for the recording and downloading of field equipment.
  • Respond to client field inquiries in a prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous manner.
  • Adhere to all aspects of the health and safety program.

What makes you a great fit:
  • 4-Year Degree: College degree in building sciences, engineering, science, environmental or EH&S field preferred.
  • Indoor Air Quality Testing, CSST Asbestos Certification or Field Inspection experience a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, and client-interfacing skills.
  • Strong computer skills. Comfortable using technology to collect data.
  • Experience in providing similar field testing services is required.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally up to 40% as needed.
  • Lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Ability to walk facility grounds during inspections
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, work at heights and reach/work above head.
