Overview:
RES is looking for an experienced Government Affairs and Business Development Manager to look after our Eastern Region. Your main mission is to develop and execute impactful and comprehensive government relations and policy strategies for RES at all levels of government. How will you do it? A natural CONNECTOR and RELATIONSHIP BUILDER, you will be articulating strategic objectives and using your deep knowledge of government, politics, and political affairs of the region to shape RES's stance on government affairs and relationships. A NATURAL COMMUNICATOR, you will work closely with internal sales and regulatory teams, external industry/trade associations, and other stakeholder groups to advocate for RES.A STRATEGIC THINKER and DAY-TO-DAY EXECUTOR, you will be juggling several issues at once, considering and solving both short and long-term problems.

What your day-to-day might look like?:
50% of your time will be dedicated to the relationship with the governmental agencies. You will be initiating and cultivating relationships with key policymakers and their staff, ensuring RES' policy stances are known at the local and state levels. You will manage relationships with public policy firms and consultant engagements on targeted projects in support of sales objectives. You will also work within formal and informal industry coalitions and otherwise develop industry contacts, to advance areas of common interest. 50% of your time, you will be developing and implementing RES's public policy principles. You will track legislative and regulatory activity relevant to organizational principles and activities, analyze government reports, respond to executive inquiries regarding any environmental issue as it relates to government activity, and prepare briefs and memoranda on related issues.

Qualifications:
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:Bachelor's degree.5+ years of relevant experience in legislative affairs, and environmental and regulatory policy. A track record of translating strategy into action at the regulatory and legislative levels.
