SUMMARY
The Health Safety & Environment (HSE) department at this company promotes a safe and environmentally friendly work environment through the integration of value-added HSE programs, policies, and services. HSE continuously strives for a proactive culture to reduce the incidence and severity of the occupational injury, illness, and environmental events. It is responsible for implementing programs and policies that comply with all local, state, and federal HSE rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The HSE Associate is responsible for interfacing with all levels of the organization to ensure necessary and sustainable HSE systems, programs, procedures, training, work practices, and controls are developed and implemented to maintain compliance with applicable HSE regulations and address identified risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The HSE Associate is responsible for interfacing with all levels of the organization to ensure necessary and sustainable HSE systems, programs, procedures, training, work practices, and controls are developed and implemented to maintain compliance with applicable HSE regulations and address identified risks.
- Assists in the implementation and monitoring of company HSE programs.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations and permits at assigned sites.
- Performs reviews of GMP documents to ensure HSE risks and activities are appropriately captured.
- Conducts comprehensive HSE audits, inspections, and surveys.
- Conducts incident investigations and develops and implements agreed-upon HSE corrective/preventative actions.
- Provides technical assistance and advice to operations managers and employees regarding environmental health and safety issues.
- Respond to medical and hazardous spill emergencies as required.
- Ensures the communication of HSE matters to internal stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or 2 - 4 years of experience in an HSE role.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast, priority-switching environment
- Advanced communication and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Safety, and Health, Engineering, Chemistry or other applicable Biological disciplines
- Experience with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Good working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast, priority-switching environment
- Looking for someone with Health and Safety OSHA compliance knowledge!
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats to a wide variety of audiences
