Description
This is an in-person, wet-lab position. It can be either full-time over the summer (with the possibility to continue part-time during the semester) or completely part-time . Full-time applicants will be preferred. Please indicate your availability and preferred start date in your application.
The selected candidate will be expected to largely independently implement the provided protocols related to bacteriophage isolation and propagation in non-model organisms.
Someone with microbiology research experience (bacteriophage research preferred) who is comfortable working independently will be an ideal candidate for this position. There will be further opportunities to conduct independent research, share research ideas, and participate in other startup activities.
Compensation
$12-15/hour, depending on the applicant's experience. This is a 1099 position.
What will you learn during this internship?
You will become acquitted with bacteriophage and microbiology research techniques and receive an invaluable experience conducting cutting-edge microbiology research with minimal supervision.
?What does Uniphage do?
Uniphage aims to become a leader in curing fungal and bacterial diseases across agriculture and beyond. Our first goal is to reduce the use of dangerous fungicides, bactericides, and antibiotics in plant agriculture by developing significantly safer and more efficient microbe-based alternatives. Our current R&D program is focused on curing citrus greening disease, a bacterial disease crumbling the US citrus industry, and developing novel microbe-based solutions to cure fungal diseases.
