Job Description
About This Role
We are looking for a Research Fellow with cryo-EM structural biology background and an interest in structure-based design of antibodies and gene therapy vectors to join our multi-disciplinary team. We have in-house high-resolution structural biology technologies, including a Glacios cryo-EM microscope equipped with a BioQuantum K3 detector. This is a great opportunity to work with dedicated, innovative scientists focusing on biologics and gene therapy drug discovery.
What You'll Do
· You will use a multi-disciplinary approach that includes preparative purification of antigen-antibody complexes and state-of-the-art biophysical and structural techniques.
· Your primary responsibility will be determining novel cryo-EM structures of antigen-antibody complexes and AAV capsids.
· You will drive insights about mechanism of action and structure-function relationships and, when necessary, utilize that knowledge for engineering purposes.
· You will enjoy being part of a fast-paced and innovative team of scientists actively pursuing unmet medical needs in the neuroscience space.
Who You Are
You are passionate about structural biology and driving cryo-EM insights to impact drug discovery projects. You love learning new technological skills and working through collaboration.
Why Biogen?
Our mission to find therapies for neurological and rare diseases is a unique focus within our industry and this shared purpose is what connects us as a team. We work together to overcome obstacles and to follow the science. We are resilient as we strive to make an impact on our patients' lives and on changing the course of medicine. Together, we pioneer. Together, we thrive.
