ERM is seeking a motivated Associate Environmental Due Diligence Consultant to join our consulting firm in Nashville, TN or Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers primarily on due diligence/transaction services projects, EHS compliance programs, and environmental site investigations. Typical projects are associated with investigating historical and current environmental issues at a variety of facilities, including waste management, permitting, and soil and groundwater contamination. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform environmental due diligence projects for industrial and commercial transactions, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards.
  • Provide technical assistance/support on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance and sustainability.
  • Prepare concise reports that assess potential environmental, social and governance liability risks.
  • Perform environmental compliance assessments at industrial and commercial facilities, and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform multiple projects concurrently within strict timeframes, scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Focus on team project delivery, working with a project team and taking direction primarily from Task and Project Managers.
  • Assist in maintaining strong health and safety performance and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, site/facility personnel, client contacts, and regulators during field activities.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in the environmental sciences, geology, engineering areas, or related discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, working on environmental due diligence projects.
  • Willingness/interest in field assignments and frequent travel, willingness to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Solid knowledge of the ASTM Phase I standards, understanding of core business and legal concepts of business transactions, and continued interest in working on transactions.
  • General understanding of regulatory environmental compliance requirements in the United States and/or internationally.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
  • Ability to interface with facility or onsite personnel during fieldwork, multi-task, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus, but not mandatory.
