Job description: Our client located near Columbia, MO is seeking a full-time Environmental Manager to join their team to manage environmental regulatory processes, trainings, and programs to ensure compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance with EPA, DOT, and Company Environmental requirements.
Develop Environmental policies, procedures and programs as required.
Manage environmental regulatory processes, trainings, and programs to ensure compliance and to improve workplace culture.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver Environmental training to address regulatory standards and environmental policies and procedures.
Conduct Environmental inspections and assist with internal Environmental auditing programs.
Develop/Coordinate Emergency Response activities, along with updates to the Business Continuity Plan.
Maintain necessary Environmental-related documentation and reporting requirements.
Manage Environmental incidents, such as spills, and recommend and/or implement corrective actions.
Inspect workplaces and minimize or eliminate Environmental risk from processes and materials.
Maintain Hazard Communications Programs, including management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Manage hazardous waste generation, storage and shipment in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
Manage non-hazardous waste streams with focus on cost minimization and volume reduction.
Successfully complete RCRA/DOT training, as required, along with ensuring other applicable employees receive RCRA/DOT training.
Manage EPA and Missouri Department of Natural Resources requirements pertaining to processes, including requirements and reporting contained in Environmental permits.

Qualifications: Skills and Experience

Working knowledge of hazardous materials including hazardous waste, asbestos, VOCs, and other hazardous air pollutants.
Knowledge and experience with EPA and DOT compliance.
Familiarity and appropriate experience in dealing with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Ability to manage multiple projects and activities concurrently.
Degree required. Prefer BS degree with a minimum of 5-8 years applicable experience.
