Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and builds partnership at site across all levels of the organization to foster EHS culture improvement with strategic action plans
Maintain and understanding and knowledge of legal EHS requirements of OSHA/ EPA regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
Provides guidance to all employees to ensure adherence to company EHS Procedures and Standard Practices.
Works on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups, external to and within the core EHS team.
Ensures timely risk assessments and adequate controls for EHS processes.
Assists in the identification of Health & Safety hazards and the development of controls to mitigate risks including ergonomic improvements.
Conduct EHS audits; audit compliance to Carrier policies and procedures and regulatory requirements; maintain and improve environmental regulatory compliance initiatives; evaluate effectiveness of EHS programs
Manage worker's compensation program including claims management, and return-to-work coordination.
Works closely with site's facility management services to ensure EHS compliance.
Provides timely information and guidance to the site leadership team, and site EHS council, including EHS performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses.
Drives action plans to meet and exceed aggressive EHS goals.
Develops and implements EHS programs, processes and training to support regulatory requirements and best practices.
Determination and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, greenhouse gas generation, hazardous waste generation and increase recycling rate.
Educational Requirements
BA/ BS degree in Environmental Safety and Health or related degree/ 5+ years' experience
Recognized Certification in Environmental, Safety or Health, Risk Management such as CIH, CSP, etc. (Desirable, but not required)
Qualifications:
Strong leadership, organization and project management skills
Experience in leading a team, as well as proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively with and work with all levels of the organization and external agencies
Demonstrated understanding of standard EH&S reporting methods and metrics
Demonstrated success in leading and implementing site and/or corporate EH&S programs and systems.
Ability to influence and drive EH&S initiatives while working in diverse, multicultural environment
Demonstrated strength in EH&S risk assessment, program evaluation and auditing
Past experience in manufacturing/warehouse or research and development setting
Strong knowledge, understanding and compliance with Environment, Health and Safety regulations, standard concepts, practices and procedures required.
Proficient in using MS Office, Outlook, Windows Operating System Internet explorer and web applications.
Experience with Enablon EMS (Desirable, but not required)
