Science is looking for research associates enthusiastic about creating a new research program to develop therapeutics on the interface of cell biology and medical devices. Candidates can look forward to helping set up and scale a focused research program in collaboration with a world-class team of scientists and engineers with diverse technical backgrounds. As a very early-stage company, we are looking for candidates who want to have a significant impact on the company's progress with the opportunity for growth. Ideal candidates will have extensive laboratory experience, expertise in cell culture, histology, and microscopy, are detail-oriented, reliable, and natural self-starters motivated to exceed expectations.

Role responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of cell-culture based tasks and assays including working with cell lines, organoids, and primary cells
  • Perform and analyze histology experiments including but not limited to classic histological stains, immunofluorescence, and fluorescence in situ hybridization assays

Key qualifications:
  • At least 1-2 years hands on laboratory experience in a biology laboratory environment
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture and expertise in basic cell culture operations including sterile technique, passaging, feeding, cryopreservation, etc
  • Hands-on experience with histology and/or microscopy techniques
  • Extreme attention to detail, takes pride in working with care and precision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self starter, motivated to exceed expectations
  • Software is your friend, not your nemesis

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with mouse primary neuronal culture
  • Experience working with organoids
  • Experience with microscopy
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative analysis
