AllSTEM Connections is seeking a Molecular Biologist • Automation, to work onsite in San Diego, CA.
This is an 18-month (1.5 years) contract opportunity, with the possibility of extension/temp-to-hire.
Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:30AM • 5PM.
Pay range is from $28 - $32/hour.
Our client•s Biotherapeutics Discovery Research Center at San Diego is growing in key areas. Our research group focuses on discovering innovative biotherapeutic medicines saving lives and improving patients• quality of life, by applying leading-edge protein discovery, engineering, and characterization technologies; thus, making a significant difference through contributions to the development of novel biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs!
Responsibilities:
The Biologics Automation and High-throughput Technologies Group at our client•s Biotechnology Center in San Diego is searching for an individual with experience in Molecular Biology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the execution of high throughput molecular biology procedures and protein assays to support on-going protein therapeutic discovery projects.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Execute high throughput molecular biology protocols and recombinant protein binding assays to support protein and peptide biotherapeutic discovery projects.
Work collaboratively with project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines.
Interact productively with the antibody discovery, protein engineering and purification groups across the research site.
Conduct experiments to identify and validate drug targets. Support assay design, optimization, validation, and data analyses. Design and execute molecular and cell biology experiments.
Troubleshoot and analyze complex data in support of drug discovery projects.
Presentation of results and conclusions both orally and written
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor•s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or 2-5 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Experience in basic same basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, restriction enzyme and recombination-based cloning, E. coli transformation, small scale plasmid DNA extraction and quantification required.
Experience in the operation of high throughput liquid handlers, and dispensers preferred
Excellent communication skills
Work collaboratively with project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines.
