• A renowned, award-winning, scientific research institute located in San Diego, CA is looking for an efficient Biology Research Assistant I to join their growing team. Recent College Grads are encouraged to apply!
• The institute was founded by the developer of the polio vaccine and consistently ranks among the top institutions in the US in terms of research output and quality in the life sciences
• You will be part of a research team focused on understanding the genetic and neural control of animal behavior

Biology Research Assistant I Responsibilities:

• Executes behavioral and histological experiments according to the plans set by the postdoctoral scholar
• Assisting maintenance of molecular biology reagents and Drosophila
• Communicate with various personnel in and outside of the laboratory for the smooth operation of scientific research
• Perform dissection, fix, antibody application, wash, and mounting following the established protocol

Biology Research Assistant I Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related field
• Previous experience with microsurgery on laboratory animals
• Demonstrated experience in using MATLAB, Python, R, or equivalent data analysis/programming is a plus
