JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Field Technician Environmental is responsible for organizing and conducting field sample collection events in conformance with contract and regulatory requirements. The Senior Field Technician provides documentation of their field efforts, collects samples, and maintains quality assurance requirements. This role will communicate with the project team, project manager, and quality assurance personnel to ensure that project requirements are completed. The Senior Field Technician, Environmental will interact with clients, vendors, and regulators in the field environment and present a professional image for the Company. The Senior Field Technician, Environmental may oversee and train other field technicians and perform a variety of sophisticated field and related tasks to satisfy client requirements and to profit the Company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review project site work plans and provide feedback to Project Manager.
Communicate with Project Manager and project team members.
Review and follow Site Health and Safety Plans.
Responsible for proper quality assurance and quality control on projects in accordance with the Jones Edmunds Quality Program to ensure projects meet Company, industry, and client standards and expectations.
Receive, set up, test, calibrate, and decontaminate various field sampling equipment and provide documentation of these procedures.
Receive incoming sample kits from the laboratory and check for completeness.
Perform efficient environmental field sample collection work in conformance with FDEP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare field documentation packages to ensure completeness and conformance to FDEP SOP requirements.
Ship outgoing sample kits to the laboratory and document receipt by the laboratory.
Perform peer review on field documentation packages.
Perform field audits on peers.
Train field technicians in sampling procedures and documentation.
Stay current with FDEP SOPs and regulations affecting the work product.
Advise others on advanced technical matters related to field practices, procedures, methods, and equipment.
Communicate and interact with clients and regulatory personnel.
Prepare written technical documentation and reports.
Research and make recommendations for field sampling equipment purchases.
Obtain product information, identify vendors and suppliers, and order materials and equipment to maintain inventory.
Maintain field sampling equipment and vehicles.
Stay current with OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: HS diploma or equivalent
Registration: None
Certification: OSHA HAZWOPER
Experience: 10+ years of progressive environmental, field, or related experience
5+ years of environmental field sampling or related experience
Other: Valid Driver's License with an acceptable MVR
