Senior Environmental Scientist (Permit Coordinator)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (full-time)

Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct permit coordination with project teams, develop/manage/track permits using permit tracker
- Liaise with client peer groups for permitting deliverables
- Manage and maintain field team deliverables
Secondary Duties:
- Assist with fulfilling field investigations that may include habitat evaluations for threatened and endangered species and/or other sensitive resources
- Produce technical reports presenting results from field investigations and develop appropriate applications/consultations necessary for various regulatory approvals
- Conduct permit compliance tasks, agency consultations, and federal/state/local permit applications
- Develop non-environmental permit applications and process applications with the corresponding approval body
- General office related duties would include report/permit writing, assisting with compliance related tasks, and QA/QC review
- Job includes a mix of field assignments, report/permit preparation and some travel (10%)
- Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform environmental compliance audits, prepare permitting applications, and analyze environmental data for various types of projects (renewable projects, high-voltage transmission line routing, oil and gas facilities, power generation construction, and water treatment facilities)
- Prepare storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), Best Management Practices (BMP) inspections, and environmental site assessments
Qualifications (required):
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Botany, Soil Science, Archaeology, or a related natural science degree from an accredited program
- Demonstrated knowledge of permitting including, but not limited to, one of the following:
- Section 404, 401 and Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide and Section 10 permitting
- State Historical Preservation Office, Section 106 consultation
- Fish & Wildlife Service, Section 7 consultation
- Department of Transportation Occupancy and Excavation Permits
- NPDES NOI and NOC
- Knowledge of state and local permitting processes in Texas
- 2 years previous consulting experience related to environmental compliance inspections
- 5 years of experience in environmental review and permitting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in computer software (MS Office)
Qualifications (preferred):
- Basic knowledge of environmental site assessment methods, environmental compliance and audits, environmental permitting process (i.e., waters/wetlands permitting, threatened/endangered species permitting, and cultural resources)
- Experience with ArcGIS
- Knowledge of the agencies that govern wetland resources and storm water
- Knowledge of erosion and sediment control permitting and site restoration practices
- Demonstrated proficiency operating GIS and GPS equipment
