Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:The Associate Microbiologist will control and assure quality and provide technical support for production by means of microbiological analysis of raw materials, utilities and environment (water, compressed air, etc.) as well as finished products. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Test raw materials and finished products for microbial contamination.Trouble shoot production problems.Train personnel.Prepare and standardize all reagents.Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.Validate procedures used in the microbiology laboratory.Complete all necessary documentation in microbiology lab to ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance.Responsible for and empowered to stop an analysis that may produce poor quality results as required by ISO 17025.Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Skills:Demonstrates practical problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out responsibilities under general supervisionAble to manage time and organize workload for effective implementationStrong customer and results orientationInteracts effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversityFunctions as an effective team memberAdaptive and evolves with the changing external environment and organization Experience:6 months to 2 years of laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical or related industry Education:Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or related scientific field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:One year of Quality Control back ground #LI-JH1
