EHS Manager

Position Summary:
  • This position is responsible for managing EH&S staff ensuring environmental, health and safety issues inside and outside of plant are handled effectively.
  • Position is responsible to create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures, including accident prevention training, equipment inspection, accident investigation risk assessment activities, etc.
  • Support emergency situations and first aid evaluating health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment following all local, state, and federal guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist HR and nursing staff with worker's compensation claims in the event of a workplace accident to ensure prompt mitigation.
  • Assist other departments with certification of ISO45001 for the facility.
  • Maintain compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, and BBP.
  • Evaluate PPE and ensure proper training, use, storage, and maintenance of PPE.
  • Assist with compliance to Storm Water Pollution Plan (SWPP) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) completing all paperwork and sampling required. Ensure necessary reports are sent to the proper agency.
  • Comply with Fall Protection Program - provide training on, inspecting, storage, and maintaining all fall protection equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred in Health and Safety Sciences, Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 10 years of EHS experience required with at least 5 years of leadership experience. Experience interacting with local regulatory agencies preferred.


  • Skills: Independent, detail-oriented and organizational attitude, strong capability in analytical/problem solving and written/verbal communications, ability to build and manage a team of EHS professionals, communication with external parties i.e. temporary services, vendors, etc. to ensure procedures are known and understood.


  • Knowledge: Knowledge of emission control devises and related compliance. Deep understanding of EHS regulations, audit, OSHA required training, and system/process.
  • Domestic role, travel may be required.
