The Practical Nursing Program Director will establish and provide leadership for NOVA's new Practical Nursing Program, including curriculum oversight and review, continuous quality evaluation, and requirements for continuing accreditation. This position reports to the Associate Director of Allied Health Programs in the Workforce Development Division. The Program Director is responsible for the overall operation of the program, including but not limited to planning, budgeting, scheduling, personnel matters, curriculum, instruction, development, and other academic matters.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Required KSAs:

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
* Hold a current Virginia nursing license (or ability to obtain a Virginia License prior to employment).
* At least five years current experience in Nursing and two years with direct patient care experience.

Preferred Qualifications

* Teaching experience at the college level.
* Community college teaching experience.
* Previous experience serving in a lead faculty or program director role.
* Familiarity with the Virginia Board of Nursing regulations for nursing education.
* VBON Orientation on Establishment of a PN or RN Pre-Licensure Nursing Program Certificate of Attendance.
